Fanny Skey, daughter of James Evan Baillie and Mary Skey, gentleman, resident Graham Street, was born 16 Dec 1834 and baptised 17 June 1840 at St Peter's Eaton Square, Pimlico, London, England.[1] She was illegitimate; her father James was a wealthy British MP who never married.
In 1841, Fanny was living in Graham Street, Pimlico, with her mother Mary Skey, sister Mary Skey and (presumably) grandmother Ann Skey.[2]
Fanny married Gabriel Louis Alfred Courtet on 12 Nov 1857 at St George's, Calais, France following a civil ceremony at the British Consulate.[3]
In 1863, Mary's biological father died and left the sum of £5000 to 'Frances Courtot, daughter of Mary Skey formerly residing at Graham Street Pimlico'.[4]
