Mabel was born 22 July 1902.
She was the daughter of Wilhelm Johansson Skoog (b. 1872) and and Anna Bernhardina Karlsson (b. 1866). Both her parent hailed from Skaraborg and had emigrated to the USA shortly after their marriage in 1898.
She had three siblings: Karl Thorsten (b. 1900), Harald (b. 1906) and Margit Elizabeth (b. 1910).
In the 1910 census Mable (age 7) was the daughter of William Skagg in Iron Mountain Ward 5, Dickinson, Michigan, United States.[1]
It is reported that her brother Karl was involved in an accident at the railroads which left him with an amputated left leg and compromised right leg with the toes amputated from that foot, leaving him permanently on crutches.
The family decided to return to Sweden around November 1911 which they did but soon regretted the move and made plans to return to America. The family boarded the Titanic at Southampton on 10 April 1912 as third class passengers .
Mabel, along with the rest of her family, were lost to the Titanic and their bodies were never recovered.
