Jackson was a son of John Slack and Mary Rapp. He married Margaretha Braunewell in 1866.[1] They had three children. Jackson passed away in 1914.

SLACK. - April 14, 1914, ANDREW J., husband of late Margaretta Slack. Relatives and friends of family, also members of Monroe Lodge, No. 18, I. O. O. F., Board of Directors of Builders' Exchange, United Brothers' Encampment No. 28, I. O. O. F., are invited to attend funeral, on Saturday, at 2 o'clock, from his late residence, 2310 E. Cumberland st. Interment private, at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.[2]
