Variously recorded as Marvin or Marven. His wife was named Hester;^[1]

He probably died in Hilperton where he lived. His probate bond (to the church) can be found in the Wiltshire and Swindon Archives (3 pages). He died intestate, the estate being granted to his son Marvin (jnr).

Three of their children, Ann, Thomas and Sarah, were baptised together on 30-Sep-1720. Perhaps there was a change of parish, although this is a pattern regularly seen across generations of the Slade family.c
