Florine was born about 1891. Her parents were James Slaton and Bessie Kemp.^[1]

Her marital history is unclear.

Florine Walker died (age 54) on 31 March 1946, in Eloise, Wayne County, Michigan, with the cert identifying her parents as those at this profile. Her use of Walker surname is unexplained. ^[1] Earlier and later records in Wayne County Michigan and Lucas County Ohio, for an Enoch D. Walker born about 1894 in Florida, do not clarify if he ever married Florine at this profile.

Research Notes

1910, 1920 and 1930 census suggest that she had married Charles Badget or Baggett and had two sons by him, Walter and Charles, listed as stepsons of husband Phillip Kelin, whom she had apparently married before 1920.

Florine as Florine Badget Slaton, 30, a laundress married Herbert Benson, on 5 April 1922, in Detroit, Michigan.^[2] Note that this name does not acknowledge Mr. Kelin, and the marriage note gives her father's name as Badget (?)

Note that in 1930, she reverts to Mr Kelin's surname as Keelin, and that she is living as a single lodger, aged 39, in the household of Enoch D. Walker, also single, aged 36. ^[3] while her children by Badgett are living with their grandmother Bessie. ^[4]
