Amelia Maria Eleanor Slatter was baptised on 13th March 1814 at St James the Great, South Leigh, Oxfordshire.[1] She was the daughter of Gabriel Slater and Amelia Smith. Gabriel gave his occupation as farmer on the baptism register.
Marriage
Philip Long and Amelia Maria Eleanor Slatter were married at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 26th October 1840.[2] Philip was a bachelor, of full age, working as a carpenter and living in Hanborough, the son of John Long, a farmer. Amelia was also of full age, a spinster working as a dressmaker and living in Hanborough, the daughter of Gabriel Slatter, a land occupier (?). The witnesses to the marriage were Daniel Long and Emma Long. [3]
