Samuel Isaac Slatton was perhaps born in 1876. Census with his parents reports about 1879, which seems more likely, in that the parents might be reporting that and not Sam himself. He might or might not be the elder child of this family, see William Madison Slatton (1877-1943)
He was the son of George W. Slatton.
He, like most of his male siblings, was a coal miner.
He married Delia Thrailkill about 1909 [citation needed] This couple appear to have produced over a dozen issue: Paul, Roy, Cristal, Essie, Estelle, Florence, Arthur, Oscar "Hotshot", Hershal, Maudie, James, Zebidee, and Helen Slatton.
He passed away in 1950 and is buried near his mother in Tennessee. [1]
