Biography

Eliashib was a Friend (Quaker)

Eliashib was born on 8 Aug 1747 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay.[1] He was the son of Joseph Smith and Elizabeth (Davis) Smith.[1].[2]

He married Alice Phillips, daughter of Thomas and Susanna Philips of Dartmouth, on 17d 9m 1772.[2]

Smith Mill's is in North Dartmouth, MA. The mill belonged to Eliashib Smith, who passed it down to his son, Joseph.

According to the probate index, Eliashib Smith's will is recorded in Bristol County probate Vol 19 pg 232, probated Vol 19 pg 233 which is somewhere in the 1762-1768 time-frame.
