Silas C Smith was born in 1843 in Rankin County Mississippi.[1] He was the son of Merrill Smith and Susan Lusk. At the age of 7, he was in his parent's home in Carroll, Carroll County, Mississippi.[2]
He died at the Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas.
He passed away on March 8, 1862 at the age of 17, in Elkhorn Tavern, Benton County, Arkansas and was buried in theConfederate Cemeteryin Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas.[1]
