Biography

John Smith was born between 1515 and 1520 in Borage, Exeter, Devon, England. He married Alice Muttlebury about 1536 in Exeter. Children: James, John, Robert, Nicholas, Thomas, George, Julia, Margerie, Anne, Isabell, Mary, Aaron. He died between 1559 and 1562 in Burridge, Chardstock, Dorset, England.

He was sheriff of Exeter in 1565 and Mayor of Exeter in 1567-68
