Biography

Private Ebenezer Smith served with 3rd Connecticut Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Ebenezer Smith was born 17 July 1758 in Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut. He was the son of John and Mary Smith.^[1]

Ebenezer married Lucy (Stevens) Smith (1752-1842) on 15 October 1781 in Canaan, Connecticut.^[2][3]

Ebenezer served in the American Revolution. He was a private in the 3RD Connecticut Regiment, under General Putnam and Captain John Durkee. ^[4]

Ebenezer died at age 77 on 4 May 1835, in East Poultney, Vermont.^[5] He is buried in the East Poultney Cemetery.^[6]
