Biography

Jasper was born about 1672

John Smith, bricklayer of NYC, purchased at 17 March 1680 a 2-acre home lot from Isaac Deschamps merchant , including a 40 acre lot in Bedford, a section of Brooklyn. His will 7 Dec 1683 named guardians Goldens for his children however the will did not name the children. Thomas and Jasper Smith later sold this same property thus it is stated they were John Smith's heirs. Text further states that the son Thomas married a Susannah Mathews and that Thomas called his father-in-law Ralph Hunt. The brothers sold the land and moved to New Jersey by 1699. [1]

No record of a Thomas, son of John Has been found.

Jasper died in 1770 at Maiden Head, Burlington Co, New Jersey.
