James (Jim) Agnes [sic] Smith, 93, of Rt. 4, Mt. Olive, died Jan. 16 at Magee General Hospital.

The Simpson County native was a member of Coat Baptist Church and a retired farmer.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Jan. 17 at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wardell Kennedy, Rev. Carl Underhill, and Rev. L. E. Pate officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, and burial was at Coat Cemetery.

Survivors include four sons, Shelton Smith, Bilbo Smith, Basil Smith, and Vyron Smith, all of Magee; three daughters, Mrs. Estus Kennedy and Mrs. James Kennedy, both of Magee and Mrs J. D. Orman, Hattiesburg; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Cam Smith, Oak Grove, La; 21 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren.
