Services were held for Mr. Basil Mason Smith, 69, Sunday, Oct. 14, 1990, 3 p.m., from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Thompson and Rev. Wardell Kennedy officiating. Interment was in Coat Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was a retired brick mason and a member of Coat Baptist Church.

He died Saturday, Oct. 13, 1990, at Magee General Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Basil Smith, Jr., of Magee, and Paul David Smith of Harrisville; one daughter, Debbie Hays of Mize; three brothers, Vyron Smith of Magee, James B. Smith and Shelton Smith, both of Mt. Olive; three sisters, Mrs. Hallie Kennedy of Mize, Mrs. Norma Rea Kennedy of Magee, and Mrs. Vermell Orman of Mt. Olive; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
