Ann Snead is a part of US Black heritage.

Ann was born in 1813.

She was an enslaved person, owned by Tully Snead of Accomack County, Virginia. Tully manumited Ann during his lifetime.

After emancipation, Ann Snead was required to register as a Free Negro in Accomack County. Her registration provides this information:

’#921,Ann Snead; Born abt 1813; “Emancipated by Deed of Tully Snead of Record in Accomack County Court”
Description: complexion: “A dark yellow”; height: 5 ?”; distinguishing marks: “having several small scars on the right hand & fingers”
