Biography

Devon was born about 1867, the son of Washington Snell^[1] and Sarah Graham. Their family lived in Middleton, Norfolk North, Ontario; his father was a hotelkeeper.^[2][3]

In 1881, he (and sister, Minnie/Frances) were living with their uncle, Wellington Snell in Tillsonburg, Oxford, Ontario.^[4]

Devon (age 21) married Florence Cook (age 19) on 26 April 1888 in St Thomas, Elgin, Ontario.^[1] They had a son, Arthur Devon Snell, born on 29 Jan 1890.^[5] In 1891, Florence and their son were living in St. Thomas, Ontario (possibly with Florence's mother).^[6]

Devon (age 35) married Elizabeth Biggs (age 32) on 1 September 1904 in Bates, Missouri.^[7]

In 1940, Devon (72) and his wife, Elizabeth (69) were living in Hume, Bates, Missouri.^[8]

He passed away in 1942 and was buried in Hume Cemetery in Hume, Bates County, Missouri.^[9]
