Biography

Thomas Snider was born 16 Feb 1807 in Sempronius, New York, the son of Jacob Snider and Velena Daugherty. About 1832, he moved with his parents to Wyandot County, Ohio. Around that time, presumably, he married Maria (or Mariah) [last name unknown],^[1] and they had at least three children, all of them born in Ohio:

1. Thomas Lemuel Snider (1835- )
2. Mathias Snider (1843- )
3. Garrett Snider (abt.1845- )

Sometime between 1850 and 1860, Thomas moved his family to Brown County, Wisconsin, where he continued to farm, at least until 1880. Then, in 1900, at 93 years old and apparently a widower and invalid, Thomas was living in Napa County, California, with his nephew Reuben Clark, son of his sister Electa Jane. It was there that he died, in Jan 1902, at age 94, and was buried at Monticello Cemetery on Lake Barryessa, Spanish Flat, California.
