Biography

Birth and Baptism
Ann was born at South Ferriby, Lincolnshire, in 1709, the daughter of John Snowden and his wife Johannah, née Sargen, who had been married at Whitton, Lincolnshire, on 4 February 1706/7.[1][2] Ann was baptized at St Nicholas' church, South Ferriby, on 10 July 1709.[3][4]

Marriage
Ann married Thomas Marris at All Saints church, Saxby All Saints, Lincolnshire, on 12 March 1727/8. Ann was from South Ferriby.[5][6]

Children
Ann and Thomas had eleven children:

  1. John, born at Barrow upon Humber in 1729 and baptized at Holy Trinity church, Barrow upon Humber, on 16 February 1728/9.[7][8] John died within a few days and was buried at Holy Trinity church, Barrow upon Humber, on 23 February 1728/9.[9][10]
  2. Ann, born at Barrow upon Humber in 1730 and baptized at Holy Trinity church, Barrow upon Humber, on 26 February 1729/30.[11][12]
  3. Thomas, born at Barrow upon Humber in 1732 and baptized at Holy Trinity church, Barrow upon Humber, on 13 April 1732.[13][14]
  4. Elizabeth, born at Barrow upon Humber in 1734 and baptized at Holy Trinity church, Barrow upon Humber, on 30 March 1734.[15][16]
  5. George, born at Wootton, Lincolnshire, in 1735 and baptized at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 10 July 1735.[17][18] George died at Wootton when he was about three years old and was buried at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 8 July 1738.[19]
  6. Mary, born at Wootton in 1737 and baptized at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 30 October 1737.[20][21] Mary died about three months later and was buried at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 3 February 1737/8.[22]
  7. Sarah, born at Wootton in 1740 and baptized at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 24 February 1739/40.[23][24]
  8. Mary, born at Wootton in 1742 and baptized at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 26 May 1742.[25][26]
  9. George, born at Wootton in 1746 and baptized at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 26 February 1745/6.[27][28]
  10. John, born at Wootton in 1749 and baptized at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 22 June 1749.[29][30]
  11. Robert, born at Wootton in 1752 and baptized at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 14 July 1752.[31][32] Both Robert and his mother Ann died, Robert being buried at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 16 July 1752.[33]

Death and Burial
Ann died, probably in childbirth to Robert, and was buried at St Andrew's church, Wootton, on 14 July 1752, the same day that Robert was baptized.[34]
