Biography

Bernard Clark Snyder was born October 31, 1893 to Frank Snyder and Edna Cradler in Machias, Cattaraugus, New York. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Bernard registered for the World War I United States military draft on June 5, 1917. He was a single farmer in Machias, Cattaraugus, New York. Physically, he was of medium height and build with brown hair and brown eyes. [5] Bernard served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Corps during World War I from December 15, 1917 to May 9, 1919 in St. Louis, Missouri. [6]

Bernard married Florence Adele Robeson, daughter of Elizabeth and Henry Robeson, on May 13, 1918 in Newport News, Virginia. Florence was born in Machias, Cattaraugus, New York. [7]

In 1920, Bernard was employed as a life insurance agent in Ithaca, Tompkins, New York. His wife was employed as a rooming house keeper. [8] They lived in Castile, Wyoming, New York in 1925. [9]

In the 1930, Bernard lived with his wife, Florence and two young daughters in Richland, Oswego, New York. Bernard was a public school teacher. [10]

By 1940, Bernard and Florence and their four daughters lived in Pulaski, Richland Town, Oswego, New York. The household included Bernard Clark's mother-in-law, Eliza M. Robeson, whose residence on April 1, 1935 was Cattaraugus County, New York. Bernard was employed as a Vice Principal at a public school. [11]

Bernard registered for the United States World War II military draft on April 26, 1942. [12]

Bernard died on December 10, 1954 and was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Machias, Cattaraugus, New York. [13]
