Biography

Adolphus S. Cade lived in Marengo Co, AL. When Adolphus died in 1853 his probate inventory listed 3 plantations. This page records the enslaved persons on The Residence Plantation in Dayton, Marengo Co, AL.[1]

Slaves

In Dec 1856 these enslaved persons were divided into 5 lots, along with those on the other plantations, and distributed to the Cade family legatees.[2]

These persons were only seen on the inventory but not in the property division papers. Unknown if they died, were sold, or what happened to them.
