Biography
Adolphus S. Cade lived in Marengo Co, AL. When Adolphus died in 1853 his probate inventory listed 3 plantations. This page records the enslaved persons on The Residence Plantation in Dayton, Marengo Co, AL.[1]

In Dec 1856 these enslaved persons were divided into 5 lots, along with those on the other plantations, and distributed to the Cade family legatees.[2]

On the 1840 Census A. S. Cade was listed on the census in Marengo Co, AL, with 45 enslaved persons. It is unknown how many of these persons belonged to the Antioch Plantation.[4]
