History
Barraba Cemetery is located within the township and appears to have been established around 1850. It contains several old sandstone monuments but relatively few from its early days. The site is divided into denominational portions, all of which are clearly marked with colour coded signs. Rows are also marked although, in the Old Church of England portion, some of them wander and are difficult to determine accurately. For that reason, row numbers we show in that portion should be regarded as indicative only.
In the north-east corner, a substantial columbarium has been erected that contains ashes from 1975. A modern lawn cemetery is located near the southern boundary that appears to have been commenced in the early 1980s.
