Kilskeery McNabbs Wanted Notice
A notice appeared in several newspapers across England and Ireland in 1871: [1]

NOW, or late, of Blackforth, Parish of Kilskeery (or Kilskerra), County Tyrone, Ireland, (or the children of such of them as may be dead), having become entited under the Will of their half Brother Henry M'Nabb late of Jacob Laithe, near Townley, in the County of Lancaster, Wood Agent deceased (who died on the 30th day of August 1856), to the residue of the moneys arising from the sale of the Testator's Real Estate, are requested to communicate forthwith with us, the undersigned, the Solicitors to the Trustee and Eecutor of the said Will.
-- CREEKE & SANDY, Solicitors, Burnley, Lancashire. Feb. 15, 1871.
Analysis
- The testator is Henry McNabb (abt.1789-1856).
- "Blackforth, Kilskeery" may mean the townland of Lisdoo, whose Irish name Lios Dubh means "Black Fort". Thankyou to the people of County Tyrone Ireland Genealogy - Facebook group for identifying this.
- Owen McNabb (bef.1790-) could be the Owen -- it was a very rare name, Owen McNabb; and his age bracket is roughly in line with the testator's.
- Michael McNabb (bef.1820-) could possibly be the Michael.
- Bernard McNabb (bef.1810-) of Lisdoo could well be the Bernard; although there were also Bernard McNabb (abt.1811-1881) of Tummery, and or Bernard McNabb (-bef.1867) of Drumscra.
- In the 1826 Tithe Applotment for Kilskeery there are Thomas and Bryan McNabb of Lisdoo. (Maybe "Bryan" is a transcription error for "Bernard"?)
- By the time of Griffith's Valuation, only a Patrick and Anne remain at Lisdoo with this surname (Lot 10a/b respectively, 26 acres).
- James McNabb (bef.1798-) might be connected -- if there were other deceased brothers they wouldn't have been mentioned here.
Further research notes and directions:
- It might be useful if the actual will can be obtained somehow?
- Kilskeery parish falls under Irvinestown or Enniskillen SRD/PLUs . Lisdoo was in Irvinestown.
