Know all men by these presents that we John Thomas

Joseph Kennedy are held and formally bound unto

the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Just and full

sum of fifty pounds Current [?] money of Kentucky which

payment well and truly to be made to the said Common

wealth we bind ourselves and heirs [symbol] Jointly and [decently ?]

fromly by these presents sealed and dated this 3 Day of May

1814 The Condition of the above obligation is

such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intend

ed to be had and solemnized between the above bound

John Thomas and RebeCah Viz If there shall be no

lawful cause to obstruct the said intended marriage then

this obligation to be void else to remain in full force [smudged word]
