My grandfather William Houston Norman Sr started the Norman Nursery and Flower Shops in Phoenix, Arizona.

All of the family worked in the business in some way except my uncle Richard Dalton Norman.

I remember going with my Dad, Jack Norman and mother, Elizabeth (Haggan) Norman to pick up flowers at the Sky Harbor Airport. My family, including my brother and sister, would stay up until 1:00 am to clean the flowers and put them in the refrigerator.

I loved working in the Greenhouse and watering the plants. We lived on the same property as the main Nursery and Flower Shop.

My Grandfather has nurseries in Flagstaff, Arizona; Boulder City, Nevada, Central Ave in Phoenix; 7th Street in Phoenix.

It is sad that nobody wanted to carry on the family business. About 10 years after my Grandfather passed away, the business was sold.

My Grandfather was a great man with vision. Even though he only had a 6th grade education he started and operated the first Nursery and Flower Shop in Phoenix, Arizona
