Wagner/Wegner families in Schlesien (Silesia), Germany
The state of Schlesien (Silesia) went through many, many change of hands over the years. Some of them (not all by far): the Kingdom of Poland, Austria, Hungary, Austria-Hungary Empire, Moravia, Prussia, Prussia as a state of united Germany and now back to Poland. Parts of Schlesien that were in Moravia are now in Czech Republic. Some parts are still in Germany. The bulk of the province went to Poland post-WWII when it was depopulated of Germans. There is a very small minority of Germans left. I am looking forward to connecting with others who may have roots in this area.
