Erastus was born 28 May 1775 in Plainfield, Connecticut.[1] He was the son of Oliver Spaulding and Mary Witter.[1]
On 18d 9m 1815 [18 Sep 1815], he was received on request at the Junius Monthly Meeting.[2] He was accompanied by his wife Jennett, and their children Lyman A., Erastus H., Louisa, Isabella, Alexander H., Mary Ann, and Frederick A.[2]
On 25d 8m 1817, he was granted a certificate to the Farmington Monthly Meeting to join his family who had moved there the previous year.[3][4]
