Biography

A Trooper in the 3rd New South Wales Mounted Rifles in the Boer War. Regimental number 1662. Richard and a fellow Trooper Harvey McGregor were captured by the Boer and forced to march with them for 4 days before being stripped of clothing and gear and allowed to return to their comrades. He died in a car accident in 1937.
