Biography

Eliza was born on 5 December 1842 in Nova Scotia, Canada. On 1 February 1859 she married Charles E. Smith, in Parrsboro Village, Cumberland Nova Scotia. [1]

Her husband died about 1889, and Eliza Ann Spiecer Smith moved to Massachusetts. When Eliza was 44 she married John D Hobby, son of William and Agnes Hobby, on 6 March 1890 in Fitchburg, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. [2]

In the 1900 census, Eliza (age 56) and her husband John Hobby (age 55) are living in Gardner, Massachusetts with Eliza's daughter Gertrude (age 10). [3]

In the 1910 census Eliza (age 66) was living in Gardner, Worcester, Massachusetts, with her husband John (age 64), and her daughter Gertrude Ford (age 22), and Gertrude's son George E Ford (age 4). [4]

Eliza died at the age of 75 on 5 November 1918 in Gardner, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. [5] Eliza was buried in the Crystal Lake Cemetery in Gardner, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. [6]
