Andronique "Andronic" St. Jean was born on October 10, 1883, in Wotton, Wolfe, Quebec, Canada. His parents were Alexis St. Jean and Marie Vitaline Turcotte. He was baptized on 11 October 1883 at St-Hippolyte in Wotton. His sponsors or Godparents were Aime Turcotte (the first cousin to Vitaline, their fathers were brothers, and Philomine Houle, wife to Aime Turcotte.

He married Antonia Robillard on February 12, 1907, in Putnam, Connecticut.

Together they had 6 children:
