John's occupation was farming. He married 1) Mary Clark (alias Clarke), daughter of Matthew and Abigail (Maverick) Clark on 26 August 1689 at Marblehead, Massachusetts.[2]They had eight children:

Rufus Stacy (b. 1702; d. 1758), m. Margaret Kingsbury
Philemon Stacy (b. 1704),
Benjamin Stacy (b. 1705; d. 1710)
Joseph Stacy (b. 1706; d. 1742), m. Sarah Trask
Mary (Clark) Stacy died 6 September 1720 and on 5 November 1720, John married 2) Elizabeth (Davis) Littlehale, the widowed mother of his son, Nymphas' wife, Hannah Littlehale.
John Stacy died on 22 February 1732 in his 66th year at Gloucester and is buried in the First Parish Burial Ground at Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts.[3]
