Anne Stafford was the daughter of Sir Humphrey Stafford, Kt., Sheriff of Northamptonshire, and his wife, Margaret Tame. She became the wife of Sir Anthony Cope of Bedhampton.[1] Their surviving children--John Cope, Edward Cope, George Cope, Margaret (Cope) Murfyn, Ann (Cope) Gryffin, and Jane (Cope) Brett--are named in Anthony's will, dated 6 June 1558.[2]
