Clara Stageman, and her twin brother, Clarence, were born in September 1858 in Ogden, Monroe, New York to John Stageman and Mary Cullen. (Note: DOB 1858 from gravestone; September 1860 shown on 1900 U.S. Census.)
In 1870, Clara and Clarence and their siblings resided in Ogden, Monroe, New York, where John Stageman was a farmer. [1][2][3]
In 1880, Clara was a servant in the home of R. David Hosford in Greece, Monroe, New York. [4]
Clara lived with her parents in Ogden throughout most of her adult life. She reported on the 1920 United States Census that she was blind in response to the questions whether she could read or write, so perhaps this is why she lived with her parents and never married. After her parents died in 1915-1916, Clara went to live with her widowed twin brother, Clarence, who was a farmer in Chili, Monroe, New York. [5][6][7][8][9]
Clara died on July 30, 1928 in Rochester, Monroe, New York. [10] She was buried in the North Chili Rural Cemetery, North Chili, Monroe, New York, with her parents and brother, Clarence. [11]
