Biography

Birth and Baptism
Farmery, the son of William Stamp and his wife Mary, née Winter, who had been married at St Helen's church, Barnoldby le Beck, Lincolnshire, on 25 April 1769,[1][2] was born at Barnoldby le Beck in 1771 and baptized at St Helen's church, Barnoldby le Beck, on 31 March 1771.[3][4]

Marriage
Farmery married Ann Milner by banns at St Helen's church, Barnoldby le Beck, on 18 October 1791. Farmery was described as of this Parish. Witnesses were Martha Green and William Davy.[5][6]

Children
Farmery and Ann had children:

  1. Frances, born at Barnoldby le Beck in 1792 and baptized at St Helen's church, Barnoldby le Beck, on 11 November 1792.[7][8]

Military Career
Farmery enlisted in the military, and served for over twenty years, mostly in the 1st Battalion of the 10th Regiment of Foot. He was discharged, at about aged 44, on 9 November 1814. He would therefore have enlisted about 1794, initially into the 115th Regiment of Foot commanded by HRH Prince William Frederick, Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh, which had been formed in May 1794. That regiment was disbanded in September 1795, and Farmery transferred to the 10th Regiment of Foot.[9]

Death and Burial
Farmery died at Barton upon Humber, Lincolnshire, in 1830 and was buried at Barton upon Humber on 29 July 1830.[10][11]
