This man is possibly related. From the book "A History of Germantown, Maryland" by Susan Soderberg, 1988: "Dominicus Stang had a blacksmith shop in the town...born in Baden Germany in 1810 and his wife, Josephine was born there in 1820. They came to Maryland as a young couple and their six children, Margaret, William, Mary, Josephine, Edward and Joseph were all born here." Noland 588.
