Biography
Elizabeth was daughter of James Steelman and his second wife, Catherine Renegar, of Surry County, NC. She married William L. Alexander in Lincoln County, TN on 21 May 1848. Their children were Mary Catherine, Woodruff, James S., William Harmon, Lou Ella, Dora A. and S.F. Alexander. Obituary published in Fayetteville Observer 31 Oct 1872 stated she died of consumption at age of about 40 yrs. Site of grave assumed to be in family cemetery but no grave marker was found.
