Biography

John Silas Stephenson (son of Colby Madison Stephenson and Jane Williams) was born on April 4, 1906 in Hannibal, Missouri and died Oct. 5, 1997 in Monroe, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. He married Mary Agnes Whitworth on March 30, 1926. He was an iron worker and they lived in St. Louis and St. Clair, Missouri. He was of the Nazarene faith and was very active in church work. His favorite Saturday activity was to go visiting and spread God’s word on behalf of the church. After his retirement they moved to Monroe, Louisiana. He incorporated Christians United for Evangelistic Fellowship. She died October 7, 2002. They are buried at Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, Missouri.
