James was a Friend (Quaker)

James was born on 30d 7m 1753 [30 Jul 1753] in Dutchess, New York.^[1] He was the son of Nathaniel Stevenson.^[1]

on 15d 4m 1778 [17 Apr 1778], it was reported to the Oblong monthly meeting that he had married Hannah Smith.^[2]

In 1784, they were granted certificates from the Oblong monthly meeting to the Easton monthly meeting.^[3][4] The family included James and Hannah, along with their daughters Loretta and Emme.^[3][4]

James was disowned by the Easton monthly meeting on 16d 7m 1789 [16 Jul 1789].^[5]
