Biography

John Stewart was born c1789, the son of John Stuart and Elizabeth Brown of Northesk, New Brunswick[1] [2] [3]

On 30 Aug 1814 he married Elizabeth McLeod d/o John and Jane McLeod of Point aux Carr, Glenelg Parish, lived in Cassilis, then in Boom Road, North Esk Parish[1] [3], and their children included[4] [5]

  1. John born Nov 15, 1815[3] [5]
  2. Possibly Daniel, who married Mary Tingley[3] [6]
  3. Jane, born circa 1818, who married John Allison[3] [5] [7]
  4. Angus, born cira 1820[4] [5], who died in 1892, likely unmarried[3] [8]
  5. Ann, born December 3, 1821, who married Samuel Allison and who died Feb 3, 1893[3] [9]
  6. Alexander, born circa 1825[4] [5], who was disabled and died unmarried after 1891[10] [3]
  7. Elizabeth, born circa 1826[4] [5], who died unmarried in 1898[3] [11]
  8. Peter, born circa 1828[4] [5] [3]
  9. Mary, born circa 1829[4] [5], who married William Cain[3] [12]
  10. Charlotte, born circa 1832[4], who married George E McLean[3] [13]
  11. William, born Feb 4, 1834[4] [5], who married Mary Sherrard, and who died July 5, 1874[3] [14]
