Born as Nina Still on June 1, 1897, in Clermont, Iowa, to George and Samantha Still, she was married in' Des Moines, Iowa, to Clifford C. Cooling March 25, 1940. Surviving besides the husband are her father, George Still, Route 6; a brother, Winfield Still, Minneapolis, Minnesota; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Brown, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Florence Blitsch, Casebeer Heights; Mrs. RE Seery, Minneapolis, and Mrs. LC Scott, Cedar Falls; two half-brothers. MB Simpson, 506 Pine Street, and Harry Simpson, Estherville, Iowa; a half-sister, Mrs. Leona Butcher, Esthervllle, Iowa; and two step-children, Robert A. Cooling, in the navy at Great Lakes, Illinois, and Mrs. Alice Bush, Fairview, Massachusetts. The body was taken to the Kearns Garden Chapel. ^[1]

Note N1544 NEWSPAPER ARTICLE: (1 Dec 1940) Hat Snatch Thief Loses Even That. A youth who tried to snatch her purse containing in cash was chased for about a block Saturday night by Mrs. Clifford C. Cooling, 426 Saxon street, who failed to catch the man but did retain her money. Mrs. Cooling reported to police that she was accosted about 615pm on Iowa street, between Almond and Argyle streets. She was carrying an armload of groceries and as the youth grabbed for her purse both fell down. He then ran down an alley with what he believed to be the purse but which in reality was Mrs. Cooling's hat. altho she was not aware of this when the pursuit began. Meanwhile David Merrman, 426 Argyle street, happened along and found the pile of groceries and purse as well, which he took to the Cooling home. Mrs. Cooling also recovered her hat.
