Mary (Stirrup) Baker is part of a Bahamian family.

Mary Susan Stirrup was born 3 June 1858 in Nassau, Bahamas to Theophilus Stirrup and Melinda Swain Stirrup.

The Sturrup family emigrated to Key West, Florida in the early 1870s.

Susan married Charles E Weatherford, son of Charles Martin Weatherford and Sarah Margaret Key Weatherford, 10 March 1881, in Key West. The couple had a daughter, Ruby Lenore Weatherford, born about 1889-1890 in Key West.

The 1900 US Census indicates that Henry and Susan Wilson were living with daughter Ruby Weatherford in Key West and that they had been married for less than a year. They had no chidren and the marriage was short lived.

Susan married Benjamin A Baker 16 February 1902 in Key West. Benjamin, a watchman, died there 5 January 1928. By 1930, Susan was living with her sister, Josephine Frow, in Miami.

Mary Susan Sturrup Weatherford Baker died in Miami, Florida 20 June 1936 at 78 years of age and was buried in the Key West City Cemetery.
