Biography

Esther (Story) Richardson was born in Lamesley, County Durham, England.

Birth

According to the Barrington baptism of son Ralph (see below), Esther was native of Lamesley. Date of birth was calculated from age at burial.

Marriage

On 28 May 1786 Joseph Richardson (of the parish of Castle Eden) married Esther Storey (of this parish), by Banns at Bishopwearmouth, St. Michael & All Angels. ^[1]

Research Notes

It seems unlikely that the original pedigree recorded for Esther is actually true. There was a William Story baptising children in Lamesley at about the right time so it's possible that her father was William. Esther was not born in the Sunderland area and so John Story and Mary Wilson were probably not her parents. In addition, John Story did not marry Mary Wilson until 1766 - long after Esther was born.
