Research Notes
SURNAME "STOW" -- Barbour records show Stow with no final "e", not only for Rachel, but also for her parents and siblings. Her brother Ichabod's gravestone gives his surname as "Stow." The Wetmore (Whitmore) and Snow families appear to have been closely intertwined. This writer believes that the Stow spelling is the surname as it was used at the time.
FIRST NAME "RACHEL" - This profile initially spelled the name "Rachal." Barbour records show "Rachel," the most common spelling of that name.
