Rebecca was born about 1765. She was the daughter of John Alloway Strange and Anne Mitchell. She passed away after 14 Apr 1841, which is the date her husband Jesse Saunders died.
A Fluvanna County VA deed dated 25 Feb 1822 proves the parent-child relationship of Rebecca to her father, and also of Ann, her daughter:[1]
Know all men by these presents, that we Jesse Sanders and Rebecca Sanders of the County of Fluvanna for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which we bear to our daughter Ann Flanagan of the said County of Fluvanna (now the wife of John Flanagan) as well as for the further consideration of one dollar to us in hand paid by the said Ann Flanagan at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) Have given granted and confirmed and by these presents do give grant and confirm unto the said Ann Flanagan her heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the said County of Fluvanna containing by estimation Three hundred and ninety two and one third acres be the same more or less it being the same Land which was allotted to the said Jesse Sanders in right of his wife Rebecca Sanders formerlyRebecca A Strange one of the children and heirs of John A Strange Senior deceased by Commissioners appointed by an order of the County Court of said County to divide the Lands belonging to the estate of the said John A Strange Senior deceased, which said Land is intended shall be accounted for in a final decision of my estate at the rate of four dollars and fifty cents per acre.
