Biography

Eugene Claire Stratton was born in 1859. He was the son of Daniel Stratton and August Brooks. He passed away in 1929.

In 1870 Eugene and his family were living in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. The household consisted of his parents Danie and Augusta, and siblings Mary, Everitt and Harriettt. The value of the home was $1,000 and David had personal property of $1,000 and Augusta's personal propterty was $6,000.[1]

On 13 April 1886 Eugene and Sisie C. Morse was marrie in Wabaunsee County, Kansas. [2]

According to the 1900 US Census, Eugene was still living in Wabaunsee, Kansas with his wife Susie, son John, and employee Amos Stone from Sweden. He was a farmer could speak, read and write english. His employee worked on the farm as a laborer. Amos Stone could also read, write and speak English.[4]Eugene and the family had moved to Wamego, Pottawatomie, Kansas where he owned his own farm.[5]By 1920 Eugene and Susie moved to San Antonio Township, Los Angeles after his retirement.[6]In 1928 their son John Daniel Stratton and Lillian Mines were married in Los Angeles County, California.[7]

He passed away on 10 Jun 1929 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California[8][9]Euguen is buried in the Wabaunsee Cemetery, in Wabaunsee, Wabaunsee County, Kansas. [10]
