STRICKLAND DEAD Last Saturday morning parties from Blair came in and procured a coffin from Undertaker Russell for the remains of Dr. L.E. Strickland of Blair, who died on the proceding night at nine o’clock. His death was caused by a complication of rheumatism and pneumonia. He had been sick for several days. The doctor was born in Hope, Ind., Feb. 25, 1858, graduated at Columbus, Ind., July 21, 1887, and later attended medical lectures at Louisville, Ky. He then came to Red River County, Texas, and engaged in teaching school, but later engaged in the practice of his chosen profession. He then moved to Hunt County, and from thence to Grayson, where he was married in 1897. He finally moved to Greer County, settling at Blair (Dot), where he resided until his death last Friday. His wife and one child survive him. His remains were interred in the Altus cemetery last Sunday afternoon at four o’clock, Rev. Walker officiating.
