Cyril Charles Summers was born on 20 Jan 1904, Mooreville Rd,
Burnie, Tasmania to parents John and Clara Summers.[1]
His mother Clara died a week after giving birth
to Cyril due to birth complications.
Early in his life Cyril lived at 11 Elizabeth Street Moonee Ponds, Victoria and
worked in a government bookshop at Flinders Street Railway Station.
Cyril was the honorary secretary for many years with

The banner of the Tasmanian Association will be flown in the Williamstown
Gardens on Australia Day at their annual reunion picnic.
Sports have been arranged.
A cricket match, South v.North Tasmania, will begin at 11 a.m.
The captains are Mr Cyril Summers (North) and Mr Len Pie (South).
A big gathering is expected.

Old Tasmanians in Victoria
The Old Tasmanians' Association in Melbourne is now in its 30th year of activity.
The president (Mr. E. J. Wingrove),of Caulfield, at present visiting Launceston,
said yesterday that since the war began members had visited all Melbourne
hospitals where Tasmanian soldiers were patients, and supplied them with
comforts, including chocolates, cigarettes and matches.
Many expressions of appreciation had been received.
The association, consisting of former Tasmanians and relatives holds a
fortnightly social and dance in the Railway Institute, Flinders St,
and four complimentary socials a year in the Unity Hall, Bourke St,
at which Tasmanians are guests.
Another event is the association's big annual picnic held on the beach at
Williamstown Gardens. This year's picnic, which it is hoped many Tasmanians
visiting Melbourne will attend, will take place on Australia Day, January 31.
It is being organised by the secretary (Mr. Cyril Summers),
Moonee Ponds, and committee.
Cyril married widow Isabella Jean Braham at the Presbyterian Church,
Highett, Victoria on 8 February 1958.
Isabella was of the age 49 and Cyril was of the age fifty four.
The Victorian birth death and marriages index BDM Reg no-4876/1958
shows that the marriage of Cyril was registered in 1958.[2]
The 1967 Australian Electoral Rolls have them living at
126 Hambleton Street, Albert Park, Victoria.
Cyrils' occupation is shown as being a Public Servant and
Isabellas' occupation as being Home Duties.
Isabella died at Middle Park, Victoria in 1972 at the age of 64.
Cyril died aged 80 at Albert Park Victoria on 24 October 1984.
The Victorian birth death and marriages index BDM Reg no-25910/1984
shows that Cyrils' death was registered in 1984.[3]
Cyril was cremated at the Fawkner Memorial Park and his service date was 29 Oct 1984.
