Frances Sutcliffe was born in about 1823 in Rochdale, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of Thomas Sutcliffe and Alice Bentley. ^{[citation needed]}

In the 1841 census Frances (age 15) was living with her father and stepmother in in Featherstall, Lancashire, England. Her father was employed as a Grocer.^[1]

Frances married Edmund Oldham, a letterpress printer, on 25 December 1843 in Rochdale, St Chad, Lancashire, England.^[2]

Frances's death (age 50) was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1873 in the Rochdale district.^[10]
