Etta May Sutton was born on February 17, 1880, in Somervell, Texas, her father, Fountain, was 20, and her mother, Martha, was 18. She married Farrar Fad Hill on December 30, 1896, in Beckham, Oklahoma. They had nine children in 17 years. She died on November 6, 1963, in Sayre, Oklahoma, at the age of 83, and was buried there.
