Biography

Mary Syforde married Simon Awood at King's Stanley on 1587/8-02-03.^[1] They had:

1. possibly an unknown child early 1589
2. William bp. September 1, 1590
3. Catherine bp. July 7, 1592
4. Thomas bp. October 22, 1595
5. Thomasone bp. November 4, 1597
6. Alis bp. December 22, 1599

She was buried on January 28, 1602/3.^[2]

Research Notes

There were possibly two Simons living at King's Stanley at this time. The parish registers have a child of Simon Awood being baptised about every two years (at least since the father's name was recorded on baptisms starting 1590), suggesting that only one of them was having children during this time period.

Simons' first (and only?) child with Welthian was named 'Mary', possibly in honour of his first wife.

If someone has a primary source for Mary's birth year being 1559, please share it. I assume it is estimated though, and have changed it to abt. 1566 (ae 22 at marriage).
