Mark (Sykes) Masterman-Sykes is Notable.
Mark was born on 11 August 1771 in Sheldrake, Yorkshire, England. [1] and was the son of Christopher Sykes and Elizabeth Tatton.
His home was Sledmere House in Yorkshire.
He married (1) Henrietta Masterman, daughter of Henry Masterman of Settrington Hall, Yorkshire. Upon the marriage he legally took the additional surname of Masterman.
On the death of his father in 1801, he became 3rd Baronet Sykes of Sledmore in the county of Yorkshire (in the Baronetage of Great Britain). The title gave him the equivalent status as a knight and his wife became Henrietta, Lady Sykes.
Henrietta passed away in 1813.
On 01 Aug 1814 in Rostherne, Cheshire, Mark married (2) Mary Elizabeth Egerton. [2] She became Mary, Lady Sykes.
He passed away about 16 Feb 1823 without issue. [3] [4] and was buried at St Mary's Churchyard Cemetery in Sledmore, Yorkshire, England. His widow passed away in 1846.
